This photo probably best sums up our staycation last week. Not the most IG-worthy photo I’d posted, with all the drying swimwear in the background. 😂 And definitely not the most glam meal we had.

But you know what? We, especially the kids, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I think it has to do with having no itinerary and just chilling the time away in the room. When we travelled last time, it was always a mad rush having to wake up early and head out so that we could ‘maximise’ our travels. Even for past staycations, the kids had to wake up earlier so that we wouldn’t miss the buffet breakfasts. 😅

But with dining out forbidden, it became a blessing in disguise. The kids practically had a say in almost every meal - from Macs breakfast, microwave meals from 7-Eleven, Don Don Donki meals to cup noodles! Lol. And who can argue with snacking in bed right? Oh, and playing video games of course. We only left our rooms for the swimming pool, which was awesome btw. The kids even assumed the roles of Recreation ICs where they brought along board games and we had a blast playing them together.

And that was the best part of the staycation; that 100% complete attention that we gave to one another simply because we were together in the room. Sometimes doing nothing together is really the best thing to do. 😊
